Core Facility Services @ Semmelweis University

Interdisciplinary Cadaver Lab

The Interdisciplinary Cadaver Operating Room provides a venue for medical vocational and professional training courses, as well as instrument development processes. By accommodating these projects and utilizing donated human cadavers for medical university education and research purposes, our working team contributes to the third university pillar of healing. The 70-square-meter facility is equipped specifically for the needs of each project, tailored to the specialty field. Combined with our artificial disease models, this enables professionals to work under conditions that closely resemble their everyday healing practices.

Compliance with the European Medical Device Regulation requires appropriate preclinical testing, experimentation, and intervention.
Our organization has extensive experience and a wide range of services to perform these procedures.

Medical device development

For medical devices with CE marking, we also offer our partners the opportunity to refine their devices at our facility using soft-fixed cadavers for further development or indication expansion.
