Specialist in cardiac surgery at the Heart and Vascular Center Semmelweis University. He has extensive experience in cardiothoracic surgery, with a major focus of his research on artificial heart transplantation in acute cardiogenic shock

Assistant professor and Vice-Head of the cardiac surgery department of the Heart and Vascular Center Semmelweis University. His main interests are aortic disease, valve-sparing aortic root replacement, Marfan syndrome and heart transplantation.
Dr. Ferenc Horkay
Ferenc and his colleagues pioneered the technique of surgical treatment of mitral valve regurgitation with artificial heart valve stents at Semmelweis University and made coronary artery surgery on the beating heart a daily routine.
