This two-day hands-on training provides dental professionals with the opportunity to master simultaneous augmentation and implantation techniques using cadaveric head specimens. The program offers an evidence-based overview from a practical perspective to help practitioners safely integrate surgical techniques into their clinical practice. The primary focus is on giving opportunity to the participants to perform actual surgical procedures on specially treated cadavers without unpleasant odor, all within a relaxed and supportive environment. Each session starts with a short theoretical summary, however 80% of the course is working on the specimens.

Course Agenda

Bone Augmentation Techniques & Surgical Practices

The first day begins with a concise review  of the most important anatomical aspects in a short theoretical introduction, with special attention to the morphological characteristics of the sublingual area and the alveolar crest, as well as their pathological changes. After that, we will review the basic anatomical relationships on cadaver preparations, supplemented by X-ray and CBCT images of the danger zones.

During the course, we will summarize fundamental bone replacement techniques, emphasizing strategic planning, flap selection (full-thickness and combination flap), and methods for securing stabilizing membranes (sutures and pins) while addressing potential complications.

In the hands-on session, participants will practice lateral augmentation techniques on human cadaver specimens, utilizing bone substitutes, resorbable and non-resorbable membranes.

The latter part of the day will focus on simultaneous augmentation with implant placement with the combination flap approach. We will cover essential prerequisites, indications, and contraindications, as well as the advantages and challenges of this approach.

Participants will have the opportunity to place Megagen Anyridge implants in narrow ridges and perform simultaneous augmentations using the selected techniques. Additionally, there will be a chance to work with non-resorbable membranes.
